IT officer at an NGO
Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) is a Nepalese non-governmental development organization working in the areas of integrated community development, agriculture, forestry, human rights, peace building and social justice, having strategic focus on protecting and promoting economic, social and cultural rights and right to development. We also work extensively on natural resource management, disaster management and climate change adaptation and mitigation activities. Its major interventions are directed towards poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged groups of people in rural areas.
RRN is looking for competent candidates to fill in the following vacant position for Central Office, Kathmandu.
IT Officer
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to improve MIS of the organization and develop technical framework to support the MIS as per requirements
- Keep up to date inventory of the IT equipment
- Ethical control of the websites
- Provide hardware technical support – laptops and desktops
- Provide software technical support – Windows and applications
- Keep track of problems and repairs – log all tasks performed and provide for check-ins
- Troubleshooting general errors in the user sides
- Networking, File Sharing over network
- Remote Troubleshooting
- Helps regarding Ms. Office Software,
- Basic server management and maintenance
- Ensure security of the server and other electronic devices installed in the office building from possible threats.
- Manage data backups in proper and safely manner.
Core Competencies, Qualifications & Experiences:
- Bachelors’degree in IT related field with 2 years relevant experiences
- Specialization in computer and basic Network support disciplines is a plus
- Demonstrate understanding of windows operating systems and its operation
- Very good knowledge and skills on action researches
- Ability to manage firewall, data security
- Ability to work under pressure
- Having work experience with I/NGO sector will be a plus
- Comfortable with extended hours, as per requirements.

The candidate:
- Must have 4+ years of working experience as a Software Engineer

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Estimating time to implement user stories (product features)
- Breaking down large stories into smaller development tasks
