Job Description:
1. Planning, Management and Implementation
- Develop annual/quarterly work plan with indicators for
- Maternal and Child Health,
- Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health,
- Psychosocial Support, and Support Medical Equipment and Furniture to local health facilities.
- Suggest strategies and actions deemed for education and advocacy related
activities - Identify problems and suggest corrective action concerning programmatic issues
Provide technical advice for capacity building of Female Community Health Workers
and other health workforce, raise awareness on reproductive health and
psychosocial support to children. - Develop guidelines and field-based tools for implementation of the project
Ensure that cross-cutting programmatic themes are addressed in all activities; with
specific emphasis on protection and gender mainstreaming. - Supervise and manage project activities below:
Maternal and Child Health (MCH)
- Training and capacity building of FCHV and health workforce in health
facilities - Support health workforce to health facilities in coordination with Local
Government Line Agencies - Raise community awareness on MCH
- Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH)
- Organize awareness raising events as per need
- Raise awareness of community people and targeted groups in ASRH
Develop IEC and BCC materials such as success stories, fact sheets, posters,
booklets, brochures, manuals material for newsletters, and audio visual
tools - Develop standard information package on ASRH
- Develop contents for training and orientation on ASRH
- Initiate peer-counselling activities in schools/ clubs/ mother’s group to
raise awareness on ASRH
Psychosocial Support (PSS)
- Facilitate PSS Experts to conduct training/orientation in schools and
communities - Provide basic counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, groups or
families with PSS - Provide orientations, workshops and trainings to local health workers and
concerned stakeholders in PSS
Support medical equipment
- Needs assessment of medical equipment and furniture in health facilities in
targeted area and District Hospital - Provide and set up medical equipment and furniture in health facilities
Develop guideline for sustainable use of supported equipment and furniture
2. Supervision and Monitoring
- Monitor target versus achievement on monthly basis
- Conduct field assessment and map available resources in communities and develop
indicators - Develop reporting format and system in consultation with M&E Department at
Head Office. - Submit monthly report to the concerned staff.
- Design and facilitate assessment and survey, if needed
Compile activities and achievement of other partner organizations and report
monthly - Document experiences, lessons learnt, best practices and replicable strategies/
approaches and support in knowledge management
3. Administration and Finance
- Manage staffs leave and attendance, and overall administrative tasks in office
Manage official furniture and vehicles
Be accountable for project funds, overseeing the preparation and monitoring of
budgets, cash flow management, and be responsible for the completion of donor
financial reporting - Maintain overview of all project expenditures and consolidate the financial report in
cooperation with finance officer
4. Management of Human Resource in Project Team
- Facilitate project staff to develop activity plan and guidelines to accomplish
activities under the project. - Identify the skill gap and build capacity of staff for effective implementation of
project. - Regular meeting with Staffs
5. Coordinate and Develop Relations among Partner Organizations
- Coordinate with partner organizations – GIZ, UNDP, KOICA- for relevant activities
Coordinate with key human resources in the project such as , health workforce in
Health Posts and District Hospital as well as Female Community Health Workers. - Coordinate with district level line agencies and different stakeholders for
undertaking the planned activities and up scaling the intervention.
6. General
- Conduct field visit as per the requirement
- Organize various events such as meeting, workshop, conferences and seminar.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skill and Experiences:
- Master degree in public health or relevant field
- At least five year experience working in INGO/NGO in community health or
International Development projects related to education and advocacy - In depth knowledge of strategy development in Maternal and child health, Adolescent
Sexual and Reproductive Health, Psychosocial Support - Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and manage programs as well as transfer
knowledge and skills
- Fluent in writing and speaking English and Nepali
- Good coordination and network building skills
- Flexible to work under pressure
- Able to take a lead and work in a team to achieve a goal as a plan
- Good knowledge and skills on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT and etc)
