Company/Organization: The Kakani Centre for Development of Community (KCDC)

The Kakani Centre for Development of Community (KCDC) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1993, and since then has implemented projects in the sectors of children trafficking, HIV/AIDS, child labor, health and nutrition, education, agriculture and disaster risk reduction with gender as a cross-cutting issue in partnership with Nepal government and other agencies. KCDC is now implementing the ‘Humanitarian Assistance to People Affected by Earthquake’ project in the VDCs of Nuwakot district in partnership of Oxfam GB. KCDC Nepal invites applications from all interested and potential Nepali candidates for the following positions in our Humanitarian Assistance project:
1.
Position Title: Information Centre Focal Person (field based)
No. of Vacancy: 3
Location: Betini, Rautbesi & Thaprek
Offered Salary: As per program scale
Job purpose:
One information centre will be established in every working VDC of KCDC under Oxfam support project for disseminating the information related to the reconstruction. The major focus is to be given to provide information related to reconstruction and recovery as per people’s need and to collect information of undergoing reconstruction activities in the respective VDCs/communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To work as a focal person of the information centre and to manage the centre.
• To provide information for safer construction/ten key message to the community and refer to the technical person deployed from DUDBC, Oxfam or other agency.
• To provide appropriate suggestion, advice to the concerned community people who come to the information centre.
• To keep data, information and IEC material in the information center so that community, office, Oxfam, government or other agency can use.
• To organize community meeting, orientation or training relate to reconstruction and recovery.
• To keep record of newly constructed and under constructing houses after the earthquake.
• To assist to shelter officers on shelter related activities implemented in the community.
• Plan & conduct community session on BBB messaging, government reconstruction rules & compliances as needed.
• To work closely with Gender, WASH, EFSVL, DRR and Support Officers for the smooth implementation of activities.
• Prepare of the event report, monthly or any other reports as per required.
• Other assignment given by Shelter Officer.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
• Diploma in Civil Engineer or Sub-Engineer with at least 2 years of experience preferably in social mobilization, earthquake resistance building construction and build back safer.
• Good command on team mobilization and facilitation skills.
• Convergent and familiar to policy, guideline, act of NRA and have good knowledge on current status of reconstruction of government.
• Good communication and facilitation skills to mobilize communities.
• Good written and spoken Nepali and English.

Position Title: Program Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Executive Director/Program Manager
Managing Staffs: Thematic technical and non-technical Officers
Job purpose:
Coordinate and support the implementation of ‘Humanitarian Assistance to People Affected by Earthquake’ project’s activities including of Food Security & Vulnerable Livelihoods (FSVL), Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Shelter, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Gender & Social Inclusion (GESI) and long term rehabilitation activities in the working VDCs of Nuwakot district.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support in overall management and implementation of the program.
• Work closely with Executive Director.
• Operate day to day program management and administration.
• Coordinate to conduct district level stakeholders planning, meeting, orientation, training and other relevant activities of Earthquake Response Program.
• Plan and implement project activities in working VDCs. Coordinate with District Office to implement program effectively and smoothly.
• Prepare Detail Implementation Plan (DIP) and lead project activities accordingly.
• Coordinate and liaison with DDRC/DUDBC/NRA/DDC/VDC/LDRC/WCF for the Earthquake Response activities in the program VDCs.
• Authorize all financial expenditure coming under the program.
• Coordinate with Oxfam District Team, district line agencies, related offices and networks for planning and implementation of Earthquake Response Program activities.
• Supervise and monitor the field program and provide constructive feedbacks to field team.
• Provide support to the evaluation and monitoring team.
• Prepare monthly/ quarterly/ semiannual/ annual reports of the programs on time. Collect and document important case studies/ stories
• Ensure close monitoring of activities and performing field visits in order to assess the implementation of Earthquake Response activities.
• Support/ conduct/ organize various district and community level activities, trainings, workshops and other required activities
• Conduct staff meeting and monitor, mentor and supervise program staffs.
• Complete and implement procurement process and policies of organization.
• Facilitate solution to any problem aroused during the daily functioning of the office.
• Performing any other task assigned by the Board/ED.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor degree in agriculture, economics, social science or relevant disciplines with minimum five years of experience (Preferred Master degree as above disciplines with minimum 2 years of experience) in similar positions.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationship with team, community and government stakeholders.
• Strong conceptual, analytical and inter-personal skills.
• Experience and commitment to promote equity, gender and diversity.
• Documentation and report writing.
• Familiarity with government procedures and practices.
• Experience in data entry and database management (Excel)
• Experience conducting assessments and supporting analysis of results
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relations with multicultural and multi ethnic teams, including working with partner organizations.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Frequent field visits in the project sites.
• Good written and spoken English is essential.
DESIRABLE:
• Previous working experience with non-governmental organizations.
• Experience in emergency and early recovery programmes.
• Mature and professional attitude and approach.
