Detailed Job Description / Requirements

JOB SUMMARY:
The senior program assistant is based in Kathmandu with the possibility of field travel. S/he is required to provide administrative support and to be the reporting focal point. The senior assistant is responsible for overall project support, monitoring and evaluation data collection and management, arranging logistics with regards to program activities and financial management under supervision of the MHPSS manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The MHPSS senior assistant is responsible for coordination with the logistics department regarding procurement of program equipment and assisting in the procurement process. S/he will be responsible to make travel arrangements in the case of a field visit. S/he will be coordinating with the finance department regarding all expenses and reimbursements.
The MHPSS senior assistant is the focal point for both internal reporting within IMC and external by implementing partners, including the writing of meeting minutes. S/he is the focal person with regards to data collection and management and is able to build the capacity of implementing partners with regards to monitoring and evaluation tools and reports. S/he is able to conduct field visits and facilitate monitoring visits and report her observations accordingly. S/he is a leading figure when it comes to program evaluation activities. S/he is able to write concept notes and do all planning for international holidays and collaborate with the implementing partner on the concerned topic. S/he is ready to undertake any additional duties as requested by h/her supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completed bachelor in a relevant topic (international cooperation and development, development studies, public health)
  • Desired background in community-based programs
  • Work experience on a MHPSS program preferred
  • Prior experience with administrative tasks and project support,
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of monitoring and evaluation systems preferred
  • Fluent in Nepali and English
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
