Job Description:
Position: Assistant Engineer
Department: Technology
Section: Service Assurance & Operations
Unit: Network Operations Centre

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Main responsibility areas:
  • Responsible for supporting members working in shifts (morning, evening and night) for first line support, site corrective maintenance, event and incident management process.
  • Responsible for incident handling and will have to work in close coordination with second and third line to resolve network issues/alarms.
  • Should be able to support and coordinate for radio, core, transmission, power system, SMPS (rectifiers), DG, HVAC and batteries.      
  • Responsible for coordinating, handling and supporting for all operations in NOC with require escalation.
  • Shall be able to resolve and analyse faults in BSC/RNC, BTS/Node B, MW, OFC, VSAT and IP transmission along with required escalation and follow ups.
  • Reporting and documentation for incidents and resolutions.

Your qualification and experience:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s in Engineering.
  • Minimum one year of experience in telecom. Experience in NOC will be an advantage.
 
Your profile:
Should have sound knowledge of core, (radio (BTS/Node B) and transmission (Optical fiber, MW, VSAT and IP) network and GSM/UMTS system.
Should have knowledge and understanding of ITIL guidelines.
Ability to make proper coordination and communication with related partners.
Good analyzing, problem solving and reporting skills.
Shall be able to work proactively.
Ability to work under pressure.
Proper communication and cooperation with second line operation team, vendors and other parties in incident handling process.
Computer skills on MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio etc.
Good communication skills in both English and Nepali.
Knowledge transferable skills.
